Ștefan II Of Moldavia
1433 - 1447

Ștefan II ruled Moldova during one of the most unstable periods in its early history. After the long and stable reign of Alexander Cel Bun, power did not pass smoothly.

Instead, his sons - including Iliaș I and Ștefan II - fought for control. Ștefan II did not simply succeed Iliaș I in a clean transition.

Instead, the two brothers shared, lost, and regained power multiple times, creating a period of internal conflict and division within the country. This rivalry weakened Moldova’s internal stability, as leadership changed and authority was contested.

Different factions supported different rulers, and the country experienced repeated shifts in control. Despite this instability, Ștefan II remained one of the central figures of this period.

His rule reflects the struggle for power that followed a strong and unified leadership, showing how fragile stability could be.

Ștefan II of Moldavia was the brother and rival of Iliaș I of Moldavia. He ruled Moldova during the same period, often in conflict over power.

- Early 1430's: Power struggle begins.
- 1430's  1440's: Ștefan II and Iliaș I alternate control.
- Around 1447: Ștefan II’s rule ends.

Ștefan II represents the height of internal conflict in Moldova.

He stands for:
