Țipova is a different kind of walk.
Here you have the Nistru below you, steep limestone cliffs, narrow paths and quite a lot of going up and down.
Some parts are easy enough to walk slowly and enjoy the view, others need more attention, especially where the paths become narrow or steep.
What looks quite close from above may take considerably longer to reach
than you expected.
From the higher ground, you can follow paths with wide views across the Nistru valley.
Then the path begins going down, trees and vegetation close around you in
places, the river disappears from view, and a few minutes later it appears again between the slopes.
You stop. Partly for the view and perhaps partly because walking back up has already crossed your mind.
The rock monastery is one of the things that makes hiking a very different exsperience.
Built into the limestone cliffs above the Nistru, it doesn't stand separately from the landscape in the way you might expect a monastery to do.
You approach it as part of the walk.
Stone, paths, openings in the rock and the river below all become part of the
same place.
You can spend a short time around the upper area, or make Țipova into a much longer walk by following the paths down and exploring more of the valley.
Take good shoes, water and your time.
Especially your time, because after walking all the way down, Moldova has unfortunately not installed an elevator to bring you back up. 😉

Typical hiking distance: 3–9 km.
Time needed: 2–4 hours.
Difficulty level: Moderate.
Elevation: Steeper sections, especially near cliffs and descents.

Best time to visit: Spring and autumn for clear views and comfortable hiking temperatures.
Footwear: Strongly recommended - uneven terrain, rocky paths, and steep areas.
Safety: Be careful near cliffs - no barriers in many areas.
Water & supplies: Bring your own - very limited facilities nearby.
Navigation: Some paths are less defined - follow natural routes carefully.
